History revived
Project team
In the heart of Georgetown, Texas, a storied residence has been lovingly restored, honoring its past while embracing contemporary comforts. Originally built in 1890, this architectural treasure served as the home of Dr. Francis Asbury Hyer, the first president of Southwestern University, the oldest college in Texas. Over the years, the house experienced various ownerships, leading to a gradual decline, and even the addition of a scabbed-on bathroom that disrupted the original L-shaped design.

Now, this historical home has been thoughtfully renovated to restore its former glory and enhance its appeal to today's lifestyle. The renovation includes a graceful addition that seamlessly blends with the original architecture, preserving the home's timeless charm. Modern finishes have been thoughtfully selected for the interior, respecting the home's heritage and offering a sophisticated yet warm atmosphere.
One of the standout features of the renovation is the addition of new windows throughout the residence. These windows flood the interior with natural light, creating a bright and airy ambiance that complements the open-concept layout. This design enhances the flow between rooms, making the home feel larger and more connected, perfect for gatherings with family and friends.
This renovation project is a testament to the enduring appeal of blending the old with the new, creating a delightful and inviting space that respects the home's rich history while catering to modern sensibilities. The result is a beautiful, timeless residence that will continue to be cherished for generations to come.
